A think tank has little to offer if people cannot trust it. This page sets out the principles CYDE Foundation holds itself to, and the information we will make public so that anyone can check us against them. Nonprofit governance is how we show that our work can be trusted.
Our principles
Credibility
We use sound methods, cite verifiable sources and say plainly what our evidence cannot show.
Independence
Our findings follow the evidence. A funder or partner can ask a question but cannot choose the answer.
Integrity
We declare conflicts of interest, and we correct our mistakes where readers can see the correction.
Transparency
We tell the public who we are, who supports us and how our projects are paid for.
Who we are
CYDE Foundation is a nonprofit association registered in Morocco in October 2026, with its address in Casablanca. Three vice presidents lead its work on climate, youth and digital topics, and the energy pillar is developed with partner organisations. You can read more on the team page and about our purpose on the about page.
We are new, and we say so. We have not yet published research or completed large projects. What we can offer today is a clear framework, a defined set of themes and a commitment to report honestly on what we do.
How we handle funding and partnerships
We list the organisations we work with on the Partners page. For each project or publication, we will state who funded it and what role the funder played. We will decline support that would limit our freedom to publish our conclusions, and we will not accept money in exchange for a particular result.
Conflicts of interest
Members of the team and of any review group are expected to tell us when they have a personal or financial interest in a topic. In that case, the person steps back from the decision or the analysis concerned, and we mention the relationship in the publication when it matters to a reader.
Corrections and complaints
If you think we got something wrong, write to contact@cydefondation.org with the page and the passage you question. We will check it. When we confirm an error, we fix the text and add a dated note saying what changed.
What we will publish here
A summary of our statutes and how the association is run. The list of our partners and funders, updated as it changes.
Our annual activity report, once the first financial year is over. Our policy on conflicts of interest and on accepting funds.
Any correction we make to a publication.
Until these documents are ready, you can ask for any of them by email. We would rather answer a direct question than leave you guessing.
How we write and review
Each publication has a named author who is responsible for it. Before release, a second person checks the sources, the figures and the reasoning. If a text concerns an organisation that supports us, the reviewer has no link to that organisation. This is slower than publishing straight away, and we accept that.
What independence looks like in practice
A funder may suggest a topic. We decide whether to take it on and how to study it. A partner may read a draft to correct factual errors. They cannot change our conclusions.
We state in each publication who paid for the work and whether the funder saw it before release. We turn down projects that need us to hide a sponsor or promise a result.
Safeguarding young people
Many of our activities will involve young people, some of them minors. Before we run an activity that includes anyone under 18, we will adopt a written child protection policy, name a person responsible for it, and tell parents or guardians what the activity involves. We will not collect personal data about participants beyond what an activity needs.
Code of conduct for contributors
Treat everyone with respect, in person and online. Credit other people’s work and never copy it without permission.
Tell us about any interest that could affect your judgment on a topic. Raise a concern with the team as soon as you have it.
Data protection
We handle personal data carefully and collect only what we need. Our Privacy Policy explains what the website collects and why. If you want us to correct or delete data you sent us, write to contact@cydefondation.org.
Reporting and accounts
We will report each year on what we did, what it cost and who paid. The first report will cover our first financial year. Until then, we will answer questions about how we are funded on request.
Do you have a question about how we work?
Ask us about our funding, our partners or our approach to independence.
Common questions about nonprofit governance
Who funds CYDE Foundation?
The foundation commits to naming each funder and its role for every project. It declines support that would restrict publication.
How are conflicts of interest handled?
Contributors declare them, and a second person checks work before release.
What if you make a mistake?
Corrections are published and there is a route to send complaints.
What documents will be published?
Plans include statutes, the partner list, an annual report and policies, once they are ready.
